Functions

To Generate, transmit and distribute Power to each and every corner of the State including other Power dependent sectors like Industry, Irrigation, Agriculture etc., through its sub organisations for better development of the society. Another major function of Power Department includes implementation of Power Safety and Power Conservation measures in Assam.

Objectives

  • To provide electricity through out the state.
  • To generate adequate Power to cope up with the growing need of this state.
  • Transmission of Power to every nook and corner of the state.
  • Implementation of Power safety measures.
  • Conservation of Power.
  • Reduce T&C losses.
